Shaun Leane prepares for Anglomania Tahiti Style!

24th April 2006 – New York is preparing to be invaded by the British for the much anticipated Anglomania Exhibition taking place at the Metropolitan museum from the 4th May to 4th September. It is Metropolitan Ball on the 1st of May that will see the fashion elite and celebrity fashion icons turn out to pay tribute to some of the UK hottest design talent. The exhibition is sponsored by Burberry and Conde Nast and will feature a mix of British designers, tailors, milliners, a jeweler and a cobbler. The jeweler is the amazing Shaun Leane who has very wisely chosen Tahitian pearls to wow his US audience!

Style gods, Shaun Leane and Alexander McQueen are known for joining forces on the catwalk so it came as now surprise when McQueen recently enlisted the help of Shaun to dress Sarah Jessica Parker for a night that is becoming better known as the fashion Oscars. Fashion icon of Sex and the City, Sarah Jessica Parker will be co-hosting the opening Ball with Anna Wintour, Editor of US Vogue so looking fabulous is a must.

McQueen will dress SJP in one of his A/W creations which is a stunning tartan dress and McQueen has also decided to wear a matching suite. Shaun Leane has drawn inspiration from this Scottish look and created a contemporary take on the thistle in the form of two matching Tahitian pearl brooches for SJP and McQueen to wear on the evening.

The Tahitian pearl is a favorite of Shaun’s and McQueen’s who have used this exquisite gem in over ten catwalk creations in as many years. Shaun and McQueen have also used Tahitian pearls to dress fashionistas such as Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Charlize Theron and Sienna Miller!
