Tahitian Pearl Ambassadress talks
about pearls with movie stars

(Tahitipresse) - On her way back from theJCK (Jewelers Circular Keystone) show inLas Vegas, Tahitian Pearl Ambassadress,Nancy Morgan, attended a Reef CheckFoundation auction, in Los Angeles, lastmonth. It was a great opportunity to promotethe Tahitian cultured pearl, she said.

The auction took place in Beverly Hills andmany stars were there to say how much theycared about reef preservation.

"Reef Check is a non-governmentalassociation that actually takes care of theprotection of the reef around the world. Jean-Michel Cousteau heads the foundation. Famous persons like surfer Kelly Slater, actors like Leonardo di Caprio,Cameron Diaz and Hawaiian actress Kelly Hu (who appeared in the X2 movie) are also members of thisassociation", Nancy Morgan said.

"I actually met these people and we talked about Tahiti, black pearls and the protection of coral reefs".

"I know Jean-Michel Cousteau is coming in November to Tahiti. He has a project he wants to talk about with theFrench Polynesia government", she added.

Two pearl chokers were sold for US$ 20,000 during this auction at the Reef Check contest.

The Tahitian Pearl Ambassadress also visited a pearl farm on Fakarava (Tuamotu archipelago) a few days ago.She may go to New York for a fashion show at the end of this month.
