Martin COEROLI, re-elected for two years, President of the CIBJO (French acronym for the Confédération Internationale de la Bijouterie, Joaillerie, Orfèvrerie, des Diamants, Perles et Pierres, which translates as the International Confederation of Jewellery, Silverware, Diamonds, Pearls and Stones normally shortened to the World Jewellery Confederation) Pearl Committee.
CIBJO (World Jewellery Confederation)
This organisation aggregates professional jewellery confederations of 33 countries and 31 international organisations of the diamond, colored stones, pearls and precious metals world.
Its primary goal is to : define the rules and the standards, enforceable to the international jewellery sector, promote well behaviour, and protect consumer.
It is the only jewellery organisation, which has received the official status of advisory organ close to the ONU Economic and social council (ECOSOC).
It is divided in three sectors : fabrication, distribution and gems. The gems and precious metals sector includes many commissions : diamonds, pearls, colored stones and precious metals.

The president of the CIBJO Mister Gaetano CAVALIERI was re-elected for two years. The books of diamonds, of pearls and colored stones, with ISO norms have all been unanimously voted in and the next congress was settled to march 2006 in Cap in South Africa.
