UNRATH & STRANO luxury bags with cultured pearls from Schoeffel
The luxury pearl company Schoeffel and the Berlin Fashion label UNRATH & STRANO continued their cooperation for the collection spring/summer 2007. Klaus Unrath and Ivan Strano, reknown for exceptional, outstanding and glamorous designs, created two exclusive luxury bags, all hand embroidered with cultured pearls from Schoeffel. First view was at the presentation of the UNRATH & STRANO Pret à porter de luxe show in Milan.
The designers created two styles of bags: The luxurious Couture bag is opulently hand embroidered on a base of very precious sky blue silk. Tahiti, Akoya and Freshwater cultured pearls in their various colour shades are joined to a beautiful extraordinary evening bag with a detachable strap.
The unique Prêt à Porter style shows up with silk fabric printed with special designed banknotes and the portrait of the designers. The Freshwater cultured pearls in shades of rose, orange and violet, as well as icy blue and light golden Akoya pearls go very well with the colours of the print. Even this bag is equipped with a detachable strap and can be worn both ways, on the shoulder or as an elegant clutch.

Elective Berliner Klaus Unrath designed five years for the British fashion icon Vivienne Westwood and has been lecturing alongside her at Berlin’s renowned arts university “Universität der Künste” since 2001. He founded the label in London in 1999 along with his Italian partner Ivan Strano (who had previously gathered experience at numerous stages and international festival theatres).
