Mark Montano's Spring 2003 collection, sponsored by Perles de Tahiti, took place at Times Square Studios in the heart of Time Square, where pedestrians had the opportunity to view the runaway show.The collection had great emphasis on color, as Tahitian pearl jewelry added an additional layer of vivid imagery to the rich collection. Audience members, including R&B singer Mya and former talk show host Montell Williams, were treated to Montano's fusion of fabrics such as lace and silk presented in myriad shades of purple, blue, red and orange.In regards to using Tahitian pearl jewelry, Montano said, " First of all, I feel that no outfit is complete without jewelry. I think Tahitian pearls are one of the most beautiful and striking gems, and in this case, Tahitian pearls perfectly represented the feeling of renewal and freedom that I tried to express throughout the collection. "
