GIE Perles de Tahiti - Official website of Tahiti Black Pearls

Tahitian black pearl jewelry creations by 24 of the world's "grand joailliers" are presented in the second edition of Perles de Tahiti's book, "The Tahitian Pearl As Imagined by the Finest Jewellers".
This is the only book in the world devoted to jewelry created with Tahiti's increasingly famous cultured black pearl. The first edition, published exactly a year ago, became so popular that Perles de Tahiti was obliged to increase the number of pages from 88 to 120 in order to accommodate eight more joailliers.
And the Paris publisher, Editions Challenge, increased the overall press run to 15,000 copies in order to include an Italian edition besides the separate French and English editions. The hardbound book in full color has become the prestige publication of Perles de Tahiti, which was created in 1993 for the overseas promotion of Tahitian black cultured pearls and their byproducts.
One of the world's most famous names in pearls, Mikimoto, is the first Japanese joaillier to be included in this book. Also making its first appearance is Tiffany of New York, a name equally famous for jewelry in general and, starting in 1996, increasingly well-known for its Tahiti black pearl creations.
Other top joailliers making their debut in this book are Casa Damiani and Alberto Sabbadini of Italy;[...]

Ave, the signature of two jewelry creators, American-born Suzette Abbott and French-born Cathy Vedovi; Gellner of Germany; Nakamura and Company of Los Angeles; Robert Mouawad of Geneva, Switzerland; and Tecla of Paris.
Making their second appearance, often with photos of new creations of Tahitian black pearl jewelry are: Adler of Switzerland; Repossi and Buccellati of Italy; Harry Winston of New York; Leysen of Belgium; Wattebled of Luxemburg; and, from France, Cartier, Chanel, Rene Boivin, Fred, Mauboussin, Poiray, Guy de Puyraimond, Van Cleef et Arpels and Verney.
Besides introductions by Tahiti President Gaston Flosse and Coeroli of Perles de Tahiti, the second edition also talks about the eternal, sensual, actual, beautiful and natural aspects of the biggest and most value export of Tahiti and Her Islands--the Tahiti cultured pearl.
A new chapter added to the second edition is an article headlined "The Year of the Black Pearl" and written by Didier Brodbeck, who conceived the book for Jean Bergeron Conseil of Paris. This 10-page chapter at the back of the book is illustrated by several photos that underscored the new and dynamic importance given throughout the world to the Tahitian black pearl during 1996.
