The giant billboards, the mega-panels, the radios, the televisions and the written media merrily announced the “Rhythms and Mysteries of Tahiti”, the Secrecy of the Dances of the Pacific, a super show in the Hall of the Ambassadors of the famous Casino of Lebanon…

At the same moment, Claude Mazloum, the Official Representative of the G.I.E. Perles de Tahiti for the Middle East, North Africa, Iran, Turkey, Greece and Cyprus, launched the Tahitian Pearl Trophy 2005-2006, in an euphoric environment of festival and beauty. A Press Conference thoroughly followed and a very glamour dinner made of this Trophy, one of the most noticed events of the year. One hundred and five pieces of art coming from the 20 represented countries were judged by a panarab Jury composed of 19 journalists representing the main media of the Arab world. Thereafter, this professional vote was firmly confirmed by the friendly opinion of one hundred women of the Middle-Eastern Jet set being in Lebanon, precisely, for the holidays of the end of the year.

The results of the vote gave thirty winners coming from the following countries:

One winner in Yemen,
One winner in Turkey,
One winner in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,
One winner in the Sultanate of Oman,
Ten winners in Lebanon,
One winner in Iran,
One winner in Kuwait,
Four winners in Greece,
Six winners in the United Arab Emirates,
One winner in Egypt,
One winner in Cyprus,
One winner in the Kingdom of Bahrain,
One winnerg in Algeria.

That shows that thirteen countries out of twenty were qualified in the regional competition. From these countries, only seven will be present at the International Tahitian Pearl Trophy 2006, which will be held in Venice towards the end of the year 2006.

Regarding the 5th edition of TAHITIAN PEARL TROPHY, the candidatures will start to be accepted as of January 1, 2007, under a topic still to be revealed…
