




Alexander McQueen
This neck piece created with 400 Tahiti cultured pearls by Alexander McQueen, British fashion designer of the year, went on exhibit at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. The piece was loaned to the museum by Perles de Tahiti, which bought the creation for 5 million French Pacific francs, about US$35,000. The Tahiti Cultured Pearls come from Josh Humbert's Anapa Pearls farm at Raiatea in Tahiti's Leeward Islands (www.anapapearls.com)(See photo above)
Alexander McQueen has once again made big headlines by combining fashion and Tahiti Cultured Pearl jewelry. Tahiti Cultured Pearls starred on the catwalk in 2001 season at the hottest show of London Fashion Week. McQueen's collection, entitled "What a Merry-Go-Round", was sponsored for the second season running by Perles de Tahiti.
